MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Here's what made news in Mount Pleasant and Pleasantville last week:

Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow kicked off its second year as a teaching hospital by welcoming six new family medicine residents and four new dental residents.

Pleasantville school officials hope to find a new high school principal by August. The school district has received a number of applications since posting a job listing and is working with the Southern Westchester BOCES in its principal search. A search committee, including community members, is also planned.

Phelps Memorial Hospital brought back its farmers market Thursday at Rockwood Hall in Sleepy Hollow.

Trent Bronner, a former Sleepy Hollow firefighter was sentenced to 10 years in state prison Tuesday for setting two fires, one of which left 19 people homeless, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office said.
