Pleasantville Budget Sees Possible 1.4 Percent Tax Hike

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pleasantville residents could face a $1.4 percent tax increase for the 2015-16 fiscal year, according to a report in The Examiner.

The newspaper reported Pleasantville village officials put forth a  $14.6 million budget for public review. Village Administrator Patricia Dwyer said spending,would increase by $857,556, or 6.2 percent. 

The largest budget increases are in the government support and community services. Public safety costs will increase 3 percent and the village also will begin new contract negotiations with the Police Benevolent Association this week.

Revenue is expected to increased with escalated parking fees and a potential rise in fees for commercial building permits.
