Joseph Loguercio, 82, of Pleasantville, was taken to Hudson Valley Medical Center Tuesday afternoon after reportedly rolling his vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway near the Underhill Avenue exit, according to previous reports. Members of Yorktown Heights Engine Co No. 1 removed Loguercio from his vehicle around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was not conscious when firefighters removed him from the vehicle and firefighters attempted CPR, fire officials said.
An autopsy on Loguercio is scheduled for Wednesday, officials with the Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Wednesday. Authorities also are investigating the cause of the crash.
Loguercio was the only one involved in the crash and fire officials said no one else was injured. The northbound lanes of the Taconic State Parkway were shut down for more than an hour following the crash but reopened to traffic later in the afternoon.
