Pleasantville Mayor Backs Suspension of Police Officer

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pleasantville Mayor Peter Scherer backed the Police Department's decision to suspend an officer for allegedly making a derogatory post on Facebook about President Barack Obama, according to Patch.com.

Police Chief Richard Love put Officer Peter Burns on administrative leave while the department conducts an internal investigation into allegations he published the post on Wednesday, Dec. 11, Patch.com reported. 

Scherer added that the village Board of Trustees could be involved in Burns' hearing depending on the outcome of the investigation, according to Patch.com.
