Pleasantville Residents Raising Money To Fund Substance Abuse Counselor

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – A committee of concerned citizens and officials is raising money to support the hiring of a substance abuse prevention counselor and numerous anti-drug programs for the Pleasantville School District, The Examiner reports.

On Sep. 6, John Mueller hosted a pig roast that raised more than $7,000 for the group’s efforts.

This committee includes Superintendent Mary Fox-Alter and Pleasantville Police Chief Richard Love.

The committee is planning to apply in February for a five-year, $125,000 annual grant from the Pleasantville Safe Community Coalition to fund drug and alcohol initiatives.
