PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - A'Mangiare Italian Gourment Inc. is moving from its location at 152 Bedford Road to 59 Marble Avenue in Pleasantville.
Luigi Dolgetta, born in Pompeii, Italy, opened A'Mangiare at the corner of Bedford Road and Bedford Terrace 15 years ago.
"We've been lucky to establish a very good name but I'm a little sore about moving," Dolgetta said. "People are very supportive of us moving because of our parking situation around here."
Dolgetta started in the restaurant business in 1963 when he was a pizza delivery boy in the Bronx for his cousin when he first came to America. He later opened his first A'Mangiare in Bronxville before opening in Pleasantville about 15 years ago.
He's been in the restaurant business for over 30 years, save for ten when he worked as a welder for a petroleum company. Even as a welder, he made pizzas part-time on Central Avenue in Yonkers.
"I enjoy it," Dolgetta said. "When you're successful...It can be stressful but rewarding."
A'Mangiare's new location will have a large parking lot in front and back to accomodate their customers.
"It will be one of the most beautiful places in Westchester," Dolgetta said. "It will have a beautiful patio outside that has 75 seats overlooking the Parkway ballpark."
The main dining room will have 60 seats, as well as a party room and a full bar and expects to open in late August to early September.
