Police: Cosmetics Stolen From Thornwood CVS Stores

VALHALLA, N.Y. – The Mount Pleasant Police Department reported that three New York City men were arrested late last week after stealing various cosmetic items from the CVS on Broadway in Thornwood.

On April 19, Kai Milano, 20 of Queens, Greg Hurdle, 19 of Queens, and Tylik Graham, 19 of Brooklyn, were all charged with felony possession of stolen property and petty larceny, a misdemeanor, police said. Chief Louis Alagno said that the men stole items such as Rogaine, Prilosec, Mucinex and Crest toothpaste. Alagno added that this is a common crime at local pharmacies.

“People can steal these items and then take them to bodegas or stores in the city or wherever they may be and sell them back to the owner and make a profit,” Alagno said.

A similar incident occurred on Tuesday, April 24, as Mount Pleasant Police said that two males stole an undisclosed amount of shampoo and acne face wash from the CVS on Columbus Avenue in the Rosehill Shopping Center. No arrest has been made in that incident.

The following items also were reported by Mount Pleasant police:

Attempted home burglary: Police said that around noon on Wednesday, April 25, a resident reported that two men attempted to enter their home on Belmont Road in Hawthorne. Police said the resident reported that the men fled from the house after realizing it was occupied. The incident is still under investigation and police said it has been ruled an attempted burglary. No arrest has been made.

Drag racing arrest: At around 1:15 a.m. on April 21, police said they reported to a gathering of youths on Castleton Street in Pleasantville where they believe drag racing was occurring.  After dispersing the crowd, police arrested a 24-year-old Pleasantville female and charged her with disorderly conduct, a violation.
