MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. As the votes continue to be counted, Tuesday's primary election results in Mount Pleasant have started to take shape.
In the District 3 Westchester County Legislator Independence Party vote, 41 of 53 districts have been reported thus far. Democrat incumbent John Nonna has received 98 votes, totaling 100 percent of those reported thus far. Nonna was featured on the ballot against an opportunity to vote for write-in candidate Michael Smith. He is the Republican and Conservative candidate for District-3 but was a write-in candidate.
District 3 encompasses all or parts of, Mount Pleasant, Greenburgh, Harrison, North Castle, Pleasantville, and Briarcliff Manor.
Only registered independent voters were allowed to participate in the primary.
An election was also held in Mount Pleasant for the Westchester Republican County Committee in Districts 27 and 28. Voters were instructed to vote for two candidates in each district. In District 27, Ines Rennie Matos and Robert Rennie received seven votes each, while third candidate Joseph Soricelli did not receive any votes.
In District 28, Michael Duffy received seven votes and Mary O'Brien received two votes, while other candidates Paul Dilemme received one vote and Carolyn Dilemme received none. Both 27 and 28 have reported 100 percent of the results in the unofficial tally for their districts.
