Pump Station Operating Tops Village Manager's Report

BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. -- The pump station is up and operating having met all testing guidelines, according to Village Manager Philip E. Zegarelli's latest report.

The Kings College tank has been valved off. There will be additional tests before the village "accepts" the pump station from the contractor.

Comfort station:

Final work is being completed on the comfort station with its opening in the immediate future. 

Club field:

The club field is being groomed and set for opening, targeted for next weekend.

Con Ed gas main work:

Various area gas main work projects are in process. Con Ed has been told to sharpen traffic flagging on Pleasantville Road.

North State Road:

Underground work east to west under the Route 9A intersection has hit a problem. The remote controlled boring auger apparently hit an underground rock structure causing a shift in direction to get across the intersection and into the west side of North State Road.

Law Park/Pavilion Fire Update:

While clean-up and repair of the pavilion deck continues, added work is focused on the current pool deck level/facilities.

Recreation Committee:

The open meeting where rebuilding plans and enhancements were presented for citizen consideration was was well-attended. Much needs to be done to target a post Labor Day reconstruction effort. 

Village Hall:

The mobile shredder is returning Saturday, April 9, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to the Youth Center, 5 Van Lue Road for residents (up to four file-size boxes/household).

Fire Department:

A blood drive is set for Saturday, April 9, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1111 Pleasantville Road.

Library/Community Center:

Brooklyn" will be shown Friday, April 8 at 7 p.m. at the library. Register at the library. All are welcome.

Schools:

Students' artwork is on display on the second floor of the library to April 30.
