MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. The Mount Pleasant Police Department received a notice from the Westchester County Police that John Vega, a registered sex offender, has moved into a residence at 25 Operations Drive in Valhalla.
The 43-year-old Vega was convicted in 2003 of sodomizing a minor with the use of force, a class-B felony. Vega's victim was a 16-year-old girl.
Vega was sentenced to eight years in a state prison and is under the supervision of the New York State Division of Parole. He is deemed a violent offender.
