-- Monday is Columbus Day. Sleepy Hollow Country Club will hold fireworks at 8:30 p.m.

-- On Tuesday, Village Hall will not be open until 12:30 p.m. due to an electrical upgrade.

-- The Department of Public Works will conduct upcoming Road Paving. The annual road repaving is tentatively starting mid next week. For a lot of reasons, including the weather, this will be a day by day schedule of when the roads will actually be repaved. Prepping the roads enables the department to switch paving areas to take advantage of weather conditions and manpower limits. The roads (in no particular order) to be paved are as follows: Scarborough Road from Becker Lane to the Fire House; Central Drive between Pleasantville to Old Briarcliff Roads; and the “loop” around the Union Hall; Old Briarcliff Road from Scarborough Road to Central Drive; Larch Road from Pleasantville Road to the cul-de-sac; Jackson Road between Simpson to Zuydhoek Roads; Simpson Road between Larch to Jackson Roads; Dogwood Lane and Dogwood Close to the TMP Line. Access to the TMP Hardscrabble Wilderness Park will be restricted during paving.

-- The Village Hall will bring the mobile shredder to Briarcliff Manor on Saturday, Oct 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The shredder will be stationed near the front of the Youth Center: 5 Van Lu Van Road. This is for the disposal of personal household papers. All business, institutional or commercial papers are not acceptable and will be rejected, as will any junk mail, magazines or newspapers.

-- Recreation and Parks is planning the Village’s upcoming Halloween-based special events in October. Halloween Window Painting will take place on Saturday, Oct, 17 and the annual Ragamuffin Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31. From the Briarcliff Manor Chamber of Commerce.
