The west side will receive a full garbage pickup and recycling routine on Dec. 23. Those with anticipated high volumes and regularly scheduled Thursday pickup will have their garbage picked up on Wednesday instead.

Friday's garbage will instead be picked up on Thursday, Dec. 24. The DPW will be closed on Dec. 25.

The VBM Village Hall will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25.

Extensive cleanup has begun for the Law Park Pavilion since Zegarelli’s last report. A blitz cleanup of the pool and area has also been improved.

Zegarelli said that salvageable items are being cleaned and stored in pods. A refilling of the pool may be able to start before Christmas. The Pavilion still remains off limits.

The cause and origin and extent of damage are still reportedly being investigated and analyzed.

Meetings with an insurance adjuster are still ongoing, although various levels of approvals to extend the recovery effort have been granted, said Zegarelli.

The park's lights, holiday displays and tennis courts have recived a near full restoration.

Residents are asked to stand behind the fenced in areas for their own safety.

According to Zegarelli, the original pool and pavilion plans have been retrieved and will serve as a guideline for rebuilding.

An upcoming meeting date focusing on citizen comments and suggestions will be posted. A date in January is targeted.

Pocket Park Parking Lot work: Contractors have refilled and tamped down the aggregate material just shy of the existing pavement while keeping half of the lot open. A meeting tomorrow will determine whether to top off the surface with more aggregate or use a temporary top coat of asphalt binder. Although full restoration will not happen until spring, the lot is expected to re-open early next week.

From the Village Clerk: Applications are now open for parking permits for 2016 for the Scarborough Railroad Station. The permits will also have next year's holiday service days.
