MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Mamaroneck's Sarah Neuman Center has appointed Barbara Fleischer as associate administrator, which it announced in a press release Monday.
Fleischer, a Hawthorne resident who has worked in healthcare for more than 30 years, will oversee Sarah Neuman’s day-to-day operations, as well as its departments of recreation, volunteers, religious life, food and nutrition and pharmacy.
“Barbara has extensive background and an impressive track record, whether it’s working directly with patients, or in an administrative capacity in rehabilitation and healthcare," said Kathleen McArdle, administrator of the Westchester Campus in Mamaroneck.
McArdle held the position before being promoted to administrator, said Robert Bouer, press officer for Jewish Home Lifecare. The previous administrator, Rita Morgan, transferred to Jewish Home Lifecare's Bronx campus.
The Sarah Neuman Center is owned by Jewish Home Lifecare, which provides home care and adult day care, along with other specialized services, in the Bronx, Manhattan and Westchester.
Fleischer comes to Mamaroneck from The Smith House in Stamford, Conn., where she was the executive director. She was an occupational therapist at the Burke Rehabilitation Center in White Plains for nearly 10 years. She then became director of the occupational therapy department at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Yonkers. During her 12-year tenure there, she was promoted to administrator and earned her master’s in public administration from Pace University.
“I am delighted to now be a part of this progressive team and bring my long term care experience and new program ideas to the table," Fleischer said.
