PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- A New York State Missing Vulnerable Adult Alert has been issued at the request of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office for a 19-year-old Brewster resident and a search involving Putnam and Westchester agencies is under way.
Diego Salazar is 5-foot-10, 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has autism and epilepsy and may be in need of medical attention.
He was last seen at his home on Allan Road in Brewster at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, wearing a multicolored long-sleeve shirt and jeans. He has limited verbal skills but may speak some Spanish.
Westchester County police are also involved in the search, which includes police and fire departments from multiple municipalities. Westchester County Police K-9 bloodhound and aviation are assisting in the search.
A staging area has been established on Drewville Road at Route 6.
The alert also includes Westchester, Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan and Ulster counties as well as Putnam.
