The funds were raised over a period of more than three weeks last November, during which ShopRite stores throughout Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester Counties collected donations at checkout and hosted in-store activities and events during the month to raise funds.
ShopRite stores that participated in the fundraiser include Bedford, Carmel, Chester, Cortlandt, Croton, Ellenville, Fishkill, Greenway, Kingston, Liberty, Middletown, Monroe, Montague, Montgomery, Monticello, Newburgh, New Rochelle, New Paltz, Scarsdale, Poughkeepsie, Thornwood, Tuckahoe, Vails Gate, Wallkill, Warwick and White Plains.
Shopper advocates from four of ShopRite’s five top-performing stores that participated in the fundraiser – ShopRite of Vails Gate, Middletown, New Rochelle, Croton and Montague – were on-hand to present the donation, which will help support the hospital’s efforts to provide lifesaving and life-changing care to thousands of local children each year, including those in need of open heart surgery, brain surgery, cancer treatment, trauma and burn care, organ transplants and more.
