Sirkin becomes one of 13 members who have been nominated by the Board of Legislators. The Board includes one representative from six cities: Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, Peekskill, Rye, White Plains and Yonkers. The Board also has three at-large members, one county legislator and three physicians.
The Westchester County Board of Health is committed to safeguarding, improving and promoting the health, well-being and quality of life of the people of Westchester.The Board is responsible for ensuring that the public within Westchester County are abiding by state sanitary codes and is responsible for the control and responsibilities given to local health officers.
“I am truly honored to be part of the Westchester County Board of Health,” said Sirkin. “As a LCSW and summer camp director the emotional health and physical safety of children continues to be my priority. I look forward to the opportunity to support the county’s initiatives in health and well-being for all residents.”
Sirkin is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington and received her masters of social work at New York University. She is the immediate past president of the Rockland-Westchester Day Camp Association, is an active New York State Camp Director Association board member, as well as represents camps on the Westchester Department of Health Day Camp Conference committee.
As the director of Summer Trails Day Camp, Sirkin said she is committed to positively influencing children through the camp experience.
