The event, sponsored by The Rock “N” Rods Car Club of NY, is a chance for car enthusiasts to check out the classic cars (including muscle cars, vintage cars and hot rods) that will be lined up on the BOCES' property. There also will be an opportunity to tour a variety of career and technical education programs the Center for Career Services offers to local high school students, including its automotive and collision technology training facility.

An open house also is being scheduled simultaneously that will give prospective career and tech students and their parents the opportunity to check out the various two-year programs, in addition to the automotive program the center offers to local high school students.

These programs include Architecture and Interior design; Automotive and Collision Technology; Plumbing and Electrical Construction; Certified Nurse Assistant; Commercial Art; Computer Information Systems/Medical Administrative Assistant; Cosmetology; Culinary arts; Emergency Medical Services; Fashion Design / Merchandising; Security, Law and Policing; Pre-Engineering; Veterinary Science; TV/Video & Sound production and more.

The judging of the cars will take place at noon. Admission and parking are free. Music and food are all part of what is expected – and a number of the CTE students will be on hand to show off their newly acquired technical skills. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, May 31.
