They Stopped, They Dropped, They Rolled in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Elementary school students learned about fire safety Tuesday during a special event for National Fire Prevention Week.

Hawthorne and Thornwood firefighters taught Hawthorne Elementary School students about fire safety and prevention Tuesday during National Fire Prevention Week.

According to a post on the Mount Pleasant School District's Facebook page, Hawthorne and Thornwood firefighters took time out to teach students from Hawthorne Elementary School about fire safety.

Students learned what to do in emergency fire situations, how to keep homes safe and about the importance of smoke detectors.
