This Week in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – After this past holiday weekend, there are multiple public meetings in the Town of Mount Pleasant.  These meetings are ways for residents to stay informed about recent happenings and to become more involved in the community.  Here is information about what is scheduled to take place this week.

On Tuesday, Town Hall will reopen during its normal hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. after being closed Monday due to the holiday.

Tuesday evening, the Mount Pleasant Town Board will hold a public work session at Town Hall in Valhalla. The session will begin at 8 p.m. An agenda for this session has not yet been posted.

Also on Tuesday, the Mount Pleasant Central School District Board of Education will  hold a public work session at 7:30 p.m.  The session will be held at the Board of Education Building adjacent to Westlake High School. Although the meeting is public, an agenda for the meeting that is posted on the district’s website states that it is anticipated the board will move into private executive session to discuss collective bargaining matters with legal counsel. No other items are listed on the agenda. 

The Mount Pleasant Historical Society will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the tower of Town Hall in Valhalla.

The Mount Pleasant Planning Board meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 5 has been cancelled.  The planning board will meet next on Jan. 18.
