MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. Several businesses and municipal agencies will be closed due to Thursday's holiday. Here is some information about the status of those in Mount Pleasant for this holiday weekend.
The Mount Pleasant Town Hall in Valhalla will be closed all day on Thursday. Town Hall will be open on Friday during normal office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department, along with all fire departments and ambulance corps, will be on call throughout the weekend and those with an emergency should call 911.
The Metro-North Harlem Line will run on an hourly, off-peak holiday schedule throughout the day Thursday. On Friday, MTA will be running on a Saturday schedule with extra lines running during a.m. and p.m. peak hours. Visit the MTA website for a list of the days full schedule.
The Mount Pleasant public library in Pleasantville and branch library in Valhalla will be closed all day on Thursday and Friday. The public library will reopen on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The branch library will also reopen Saturday with hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For those doing some last minute shopping, the A&P in Thornwood will be open on Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. For those wishing not to cook, the Thornwood Coach Diner will be open 24 hours on Thursday.
The National Weather Service is reporting that weather during the day Thursday should be sunny and a high near 51 with no rain in the forecast throughout the day.
