Watch Mount Pleasant on YouTube

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – While Twitter and Facebook are great ways to stay connected with friends and family, YouTube has become the go-to website to share videos with the rest of the world.

There are many videos on YouTube about Mount Pleasant current events or recreational activities.

One of the biggest news stories in Mount Pleasant recently has been the controversial fatal shooting of Pace University student DJ Henry. On YouTube, users can search previous news broadcasts that covered the shooting and interviews that followed the tragic incident. In this video, CNN interviews Steve Kardian, a former Mount Pleasant Police Sergeant, about the shooting of Henry by Pleasantville Police Officer Aaron Hess.

YouTube user kindjordan gives viewers a different perspective of various areas of Mount Pleasant. The user attached an onboard camera to a remote control airplane that soared over Valhalla, giving a three minute aerial tour of the hamlet. In the video, viewers can see clear shots of the Kensico Reservoir, Valhalla High School and many other landmarks.

A staple every summer in Mount Pleasant is the Fourth of July fireworks show at the Kensico Dam Plaza. YouTube user joannbrereton uploaded a full length video from this year's show.

YouTube is also a great way to view commercials for many local businesses in the area. Businesses such as Extreme Clean, Silvio's Restaurant & Pizzeria and Casa Rina all have commercials on YouTube.

Many residents also utilized YouTube to share their home videos of the massive floods that took over Mount Pleasant following the storms of Tropical Storm Irene, such as this one uploaded by blindswitchrocks.
