Westchester Community College Announces Commencement Date

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Westchester Community College has announced its commencement will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 21 at the County Center Building in White Plains.

Westchester Community College President Belinda Miles will address those gathered at commencement. Approximately 2,000 students will be granted degrees, making it one of the largest graduating classes in the history of the college.

Among the graduates will be student leaders, winners of the SUNY Chancellors Award for Excellence and student Wellington Mackey, of Peekskill, the winner of the nation’s largest scholarship for community college students.

Mackey was one of 85 students nationally selected for a Jack Kent Cooke Award for future study at a four-year institution. The scholarship totals up to $40,000 per year.
