Westchester Community Foundation Receives $1M Endowment

OSSINING, N.Y. – The Westchester Community Foundation has received a $1 million endowment from The Patterson Foundation to assist organizations serving those less fortunate in Ossining.

The endowment is part of The Patterson Foundation’s Legacy Initiative set forth by Dorothy Patterson, the foundation’s creator, who passed away in 2007. She was actively involved with her church and engaged in many initiatives to help the poor in her community. She spent 10 years with The Patterson Foundation.

The Westchester Community Foundation is a suburban division of The New York Community Trust, the community foundation of New York City, which will serve as the fiscal steward of the fund with its Westchester division administering a competitive grant-making process.
