VALHALLA, N.Y. The Westchester County Department of Public Safety notified the Mount Pleasant Police Department Wednesday that a new level-3 violent sex offender moved into Valhalla this week. The offender is the 26th registered sex offender now living in Mount Pleasant who is under the supervision of the Westchester County Police.
County Police said that Duwayne Terry, 49, is now living at 25 Operations Drive, the location of the Grasslands Homeless Shelter. In 1990, Terry was convicted of first degree sexual abuse, a class D felony. Terry served seven years in a New York State prison. Police said Terrys victim was a female whose age and relationship to him is unknown and he is a previous resident of Yonkers.
According to police, Terry is known as a violent offender who is previously known to use a knife or cutting instrument in his offense.
Police said Terry stands at 5 feet 11 inches and is around 175 pounds with a scar on the right-side of his face. Terry is a lifetime registered offender.
