MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Here's a look at what will be open and what will be closed in Mount Pleasant on New Year's Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, a federal holiday.

Government offices will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, New Year's Day.

What's closed:

  • Mount Pleasant Town Hall and Pleasantville Village Hall will be open during regular hours on New Year's Eve. Both buildings will be closed on New Year's Day
  • The Mount Pleasant Public Library in Pleasantville will hold modified hours on New Year's Eve and will be closed New Year's Day.
  • The library branch in Valhalla will be open on New Year's Eve and closed on New Year's Day.
  • All schools in the Mount Pleasant area will be closed. 

What's open:

  • The Thornwood A&P and the Thornwood ShopRite will be open during regular hours on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
  • For those wishing to see a movie, the Jacob Burns Center in Pleasantville and the Hawthorne Multiplex will be open on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. 
  • Check with individual restaurants and other retail outlets for any special holiday hours on Wednesday.
