Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Mount Pleasant

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester County will usher in the start of spring with as much as 6 inches of snow on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for 6 a.m. Friday through 2 a.m. Saturday.

Snow is expected to begin mainly after noon on Friday, according to the National Weather Service, with high temperatures between 33 and 35 degrees. A total of 2 to 4 inches of accumulation is possible during the daylight hours.

The system is expected to wrap around midnight after the March 2015 equinox, which signals the official start of spring, occurs at 6:45 p.m. Friday with another 1 to 2 inches possible.  

A total of up to 6 inches of accumulation is possible from the storm in some spots, with areas farther south expected to see between 3 to 4 inches.

There is a slight chance of snow through noon on Saturday before afternoon temperatures climb to between 40 and 42 degrees.
