HAWTHORNE, N.Y. - Arnold Christian Jorgensen of Hawthorne died Saturday, Jan. 18. He was 82.
Jorgensen was born July 20, 1931, in White Plains, to Arnold C. Jorgensen Sr. and Johanna (Grosse) Jorgensen. He graduated from White Plains High School in 1949 and served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was the comptroller at St. Vincent's Hospital Westchester Branch for 17 years and then finished his career as chief analyst at the Archdiocese of New York, retiring in 2003. He was president of the Hospital Financial Management Association (HFMA) from 1979 to 1980. He also served as the financial secretary of the Hawthorne Reformed Church for 44 years and was an elder in the church.
Jorgensen is survived by his life partner, Maryanne McMullen of Somers; sister, Marion Gulick of Mohegan Lake; sons, Andrew Jorgensen and Lisa Latoni of Granite, Utah, Karl Jorgensen and Brian Harris of Leesburg, Va., and Michael Jorgensen of Cross Junction, Va.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday Jan. 25 at Hawthorne Reformed Church, 65 Broadway, Hawthorne New York 10532. Reverend George B. Higgins will be officiating. Burial will follow at Hawthorne Cemetery.
