VALHALLA, N.Y. - Carmela Burra of Valhalla died Dec.10. She was 83.
Burra was born Feb. 17, 1931, to Pietro and Gisella Covacci in Visinada, D'Istria, Italy. She retired from Farrand Controls in Valhalla.
Burra is survived by her children, Luciano (Judy) Burra of Valhalla, Giulio (Mary) Burra of New Fairfield, Conn., Matteo (Grace) Burra of Brewster and Antonella Halpin of Valhalla; four brothers; a sister in Italy; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, John Burra; a brother; a sister; and son-in-law, Eugene Halpin.
There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15 at the Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla. Interment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any animal shelter of your choice.
