Dominick D'Arrigo, 90, Valhalla Shop Steward

VALHALLA, N.Y. – Dominick Matteo D'Arrigo of Valhalla died Jan. 28 at his home surrounded by family. He was 90.

He was born Nov. 22, 1927, in Belmont, Mass. An Army veteran, D'Arrigo was a shop steward and lifetime member of Local 9 Laborers.

He and his wife served as ushers at Holy Innocents Church in Pleasantville. He was also active with the Mount Pleasant Seniors, where he served as president for 20 years.

D'Arrigo was also a member of the Thornwood American Legion, Italian American Club and Knights of Columbus.

D'Arrigo is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elvira Goscione; three daughters, Lorraine Calebrese, of Patterson, N.Y., Deborah Hoffer, of Thornwood, and Cheryl D'Arrigo, of Valhalla; a sister-in-law, Geri (Antonio) Pinto six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hawthorne Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Innocents Church. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
