MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. - Edwin Dennis Harrison, Sr., longtime resident of Mt. Pleasant, died Oct. 20. He was 91.
Harrison served in the U.S. Navy Air Corp, was president of the Holy Rosary chapter of the Holy Name Society, as well as the first president of the Hawthorne Elementary School Board. He also held leadership roles on the Recreation Commission, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Little League and Cub Scouts.
Harrison is survived by his children, Edwin D. Harrison, Jr. (Lee), Virginia Anniccharico (Joe), Timothy Harrison (Chris), Joseph Harrison, Denise Negrey (Bob), Marykate McCabe (Tom), Jeffrey Harrison (Laura); 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24 at the Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne. Interment will take place at the All Souls Cemetery, Pleasantville.
