Frank Cianflone, 96, Of Thornwood, WWII Veteran

THORNWOOD, N.Y. - Frank Cianflone of Thornwood died Sept. 11. He was 96.

Cianflone was born April 16, 1918. He graduated from White Plains High School and served in World War II in the South Pacific. When he returned home, he and his brother Bill opened Central Cleaners in Greenburgh, where he served the community for over 40 years.

Cianflone is survived by his sons, Frank (girlfriend Corrine Bracciale), Allan (Donna), James (Rosemary), Steven (Nancy); seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Rita Rose DeVito; daughter, Rita; son, John; grandson, Rick; brothers, William, John, James, Allen and Joseph; and sister, Marie Batchie.

Calling hours are Sunday, Sept. 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home Inc., 491 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 92 South Lexington Ave., White Plains. Interment at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, 575 Hillside Ave., White Plains.
