OCEAN PINES, Md. - George P. Kavanagh of Ocean Pines, and formerly of Hawthorne, died May 18. He was 74.
Kavanagh was born Feb. 22, 1940, to Andrew and Elizabeth Kavanagh in New York City. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965. He retired from IBM in Westchester County.
Kavanagh is survived by his wife, Susan Kavanagh of Ocean Pines; brother, John (Kathryn) Kavanagh of Hawthorne; a niece; and a nephew. He was predeceased by his parents.
Calling hours are Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne. Interment to follow.
