Henry Olaf Christiansen, 89, Of Hawthorne

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Henry Olaf Christiansen, 89, of Hawthorne, died Sept. 29.

He was the son of Jennie Eliassen and Alfred Christiansen.

He was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Brooklyn. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Genevieve. 

He was a survivor of the sinking World War II Navy ship USS Drexler DD74.

He was predeceased by son James H. Christiansen and survived by sons John Christiansen, Thomas (Ginny) Christiansen and David (Heidi) Christiansen; daughter Susan A. Kasbarian; and seven grandchildren, Matthew, Stephen, Brian, Eric, Julia, Emily and EV. 

He was a graduate of Long Island University and attended Brooklyn Law. 

He retired from IBM in Armonk as a tax specialist. 

His life will be celebrated from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at Gordo's restaurant in Hawthorne.
