John G. Gagnon, 74, Of Thornwood, Vietnam War Veteran

THORNWOOD, N.Y. - John G. Gagnon of Thornwood died April 13. He was 74.

Gagnon was born March 2, 1940, to Joseph and Catherine (nee O'Conner) Gagnon in Mt. Vernon. He served in the U.S. National Guard during the Vietnam War. He was a retired deputy chief with the Hartsdale Fire District. He volunteered at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne for many years.

Gagnon is survived by his children, Ron (Elizabeth) Gagnon of Carmel, John Gagnon of Thornwood, Suzanne (Richard) Fekete of Trumbull, Conn., and Ronni (Glen) Stockhausen of Miller Place; six grandchildren; brothers, James of Yonkers and William of Ridgefield, Conn.;and former wife, Eileen Gagnon. He was predeceased by his wife, Marcia Gagnon; brother, Joseph Gagnon; and sister, AnnMarie Hartsel.

Calling hours are Wednesday, April 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17 at 10 a.m. Interment at Sharon Gardens Cemetery, Valhalla.
