Joseph Antonazzo, 80, Former Longtime Hawthorne Resident

SANDY HOOK, Conn. - Joseph Antonazzo, most recently of Sandy Hook, and a former longtime resident of Hawthorne, N.Y., died Nov.17. He was 80.

Antonazzo was born March 1, 1933, to Giovanni and Antonia (nee Paone) Antonazzo in Torrgrotta Province of Messina, Sicily. He was a retired restaurant manager of Griffone Restaurant in New York City and worked for Gavi Restaurant in Armonk and Flames Restaurant in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.

Antonazzo is survived by his wife, Nicolina (nee Pandolfino) Antonazzo of Sandy Hook; sons, John (Carolyn) Antonazzo of Southbury and Anthony (Michele) Antonazzo of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.; brother, Nicholas Antonazzo of Fishkill, N.Y.; sister, Carmela (Stephen) Conte of East Meadow, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. Entombment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
