Kenneth King, 79, Former Resident Of Valhalla

HASTINGS, N.Y. - Kenneth King of Hastings, and formerly of Valhalla, died Nov.12. He was 79.

King was born Jan. 24, 1935, to Howard and Blanche King in N.Y. He was a graduate of St. Barnabas School and Mount St. Michael Academy in the Bronx and also Iona College in New Rochelle. He was a businessman who worked in publishing sales. His career started at IBM and later founded CSI (Composition System Inc.) he worked there as director of sales for 20 years, he ended his career as president of King Systems International. He grew up in the Bronx and moved to Valhalla to raise his family.

King is survived by his wife, Sheila (nee Foster) King; children, Susan (Lawrence) Murray of Hopewell Junction, Jennifer (Dennis) Hanrahan of Yonkers and Kevin (Tracey) King of Sandy Hook, Conn.; brothers, Howard, Joseph and Gregory King; and sisters, Blanche Rogers and Judith King; eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Thursday, Nov. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14 at the Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla. Interment at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla.
