HAWTHORNE, N.Y. – Lidia “Nancy” Battista, of Hawthorne, died on Sunday, June 14, at Rosary Hill Home. She was 78.
Battista was born on Nov. 29, 1936, to Pasquale and Angelina (Lombardi) Venditti in Casalciprano Campobasso, Italy.
She worked as a seamstress for the family business, Battista Formal Wear in Thornwood.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; her children, Angelo and his wife, Lesley of Cross River, and Marianna Golden and her husband, Edward of Hopewell Junction, five grandchildren, Rosanne and Marissa Battista and EJ, Matthew and Robert Golden, and two sisters, Ida Stillitano and Amelita Battista of Eastchester.
She was predeceased by two sisters.
Visiting hours will be at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum in Hartsdale.
