Louise C. Franzese, 93, Of Valhalla, Homemaker, Writer Of Children Stories

VALHALLA, N.Y. - Louise Catherine Franzese of Valhalla died Sunday, Oct. 19. She was 93.

Franzese was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Brooklyn, to Edith and Porter Rector. She attended Schools in Queens before her family moved to Westchester County. She resided in Valhalla and was a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church for 62 years, and a lector there for 35 years. She was a homemaker and writer of children's stories. She was a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature in West Redding, Conn.

Franzese is survived by her husband, Paul; daughters, Paula (Gary) McDonagh of Monroe and Barbara (William) Cron of Ridgewood, N.J.; three grandchildren; brother, Robert Rector of Bend, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Eugene Rector; and sister, Ethel Rector.

Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home in Hawthorne. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
