Marguerite Snyder, 87, Of Hawthorne

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. – Marguerite C. Snyder of Hawthorne died Sept. 23 at her home. She was 87. 

She was born Dec. 26, 1924, in New Rochelle to Joseph and Marguerite McArdle. She worked as a registered nurse for many years. 

Snyder is survived by her husband, Frederick Snyder, of Hawthorne; four children, Nancy Snyder, of Hawthorne, Susan (Frank) Snyder-Maher, of Pleasantville, Martin Snyder, of Simi Valley, Calif., and David (Caroline) Snyder, of Purcelville, Va.; a brother, Joseph (Ruth) McArdle, of West Seneca, N.Y.; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by a daughter, Maureen Snyder, in 1993 and a brother, Edward E. McArdle. 

Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawthorne Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne. Burial will follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
