Martin Paul Fedor Jr., 93, Of Hawthorne, WWII Navy Veteran

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. - Martin Paul Fedor Jr. of Hawthorne died June 1. He was 93.

Fedor was born June 4, 1919, to Martin Paul Fedor and Anna Ftezko Fedor in Alicia, Pa. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Airborne Division where he was a member of the blimp squadron. Through the GI Bill, he went on to become a graduate of Syracuse University. After a 22-year career as a New York state trooper, where he was stationed throughout the state, he retired from Troop K in 1972.

Fedor is survived by his wife, Gertrude Fedor of Hawthorne; children, Anna Carpio, Dr. Mary Fedor and Attila Boydak, Martin Fedor III and Cassiana Basso, Alexandra Fedor all of New York City; and a granddaughter. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Alexander; and sister, Elizabeth.

Calling hours are Monday, June 3 from 5 to 9  p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home , 21 West Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, New York 10532, 914-769-4404. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 4 at the Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y.
