Kerins was born Aug. 30, 1930, to Mary Ann McDonagh and Patrick Kerins in Tubberbride, Collooney, Sligo Ireland. Throughout his career he was a horse trainer, a bus driver for Liberty Lines, and most recently, a house sacristan at Holy Innocents since 1985.
Kerins is survived by his children, Lisa McLoughlin, Michael Kerins, Deb Gerry, and Kevin Kerins; four grandchildren; siblings, Eithne Weir, Breege Bergin, Dympna Harrison, Paddy Kerins, Donal Kerins, Dermot Kerins and Francis Kerins.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home 418 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, (914)769-0001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 at Holy Innocents located at 431 Bedford Road, Pleasantville NY (914)769-0025. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery, Pleasantville.
