Michael Hayes Jr., 80, Of Trumbull, U.S. Air Force Captain

TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Michael A. Hayes Jr., died at his home in Trumbull, Conn., May 17, 2015. He was 80 years old.

Hayes was born in the Bronx June 14, 1934, the second child and only son of Michael Sr. and Mary (Ross) Hayes. After graduating from Fordham University, Hayes served in the U.S. Air Force, where he rose to the rank of captain and achieved the triple rating of pilot, navigator and bombardier. Hayes also met his wife, Sheila, while in the Air Force.

During a distinguished career as a trial attorney for more than four decades, Hayes was a partner at Wilson & Bave and then at McCabe & Mack LLP. He became of counsel at McCabe & Mack in 2005. His numerous professional involvements included past national delegate and past president of the New York City chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila, and his daughters, Laura Hayes Morgan (Reginald); Allison Hayes Palsho (Chuck); and Susannah Hayes Jones (John); his sister; and his seven grandchildren. He also is survived by his six nieces ad nephews. 

Friends and family may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, Conn. between 4-8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi, 35 Norfield Road, Weston, Conn., with burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y., immediately following.
