Mildred Louise Hoag, 91, Of Valhalla

VALHALLA, N.Y. - Mildred Louise Hoag (Milme) of Valhalla, formerly of Daytona Beach, Fla., and White Plains, died Oct. 21. She was 91.

Hoag was born Feb. 13, 1923, in White Plains, to Mildred and Jerry Carideo. After graduating from White Plains High School, she worked for World Broadcasting Corporation in New York City before her marriage to Russell J. Hoag, also from White Plains. After living for a year in Daytona Beach, Fla., she returned to White Plains, living there until 1957, when she moved to Valhalla, where she lived the rest of her life.

She worked for 20 years as a secretary in the Guidance Office. She was a member of the White Plains Presbyterian Church for almost 70 years where she taught Sunday School and up until recently, worked in the church thrift shop. She was a girl scout leader, a member of the Valhalla Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, and a member of the White Plains Women's Club.

Hoag is survived by her children, Patricia Hoag Adams, Barbara Hoag Helgesen, and Stephen Hoag; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Carideo Jones.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 at the White Plains Presbyterian Church, 39 North Broadway, White Plains.
