THORNWOOD, N.Y. - Robert Watson Carpenter, Sr. of Thornwood died Tuesday, Oct. 1. He was 87.
Carpenter was born July 27, 1926, in Yorktown, to Jacob and Anna (Florian) Carpenter. He was a lifelong resident of Thornwood and a Mt. Pleasant police officer for 33 years retiring in 1985.
Carpenter is survived by his children, Robert W. Carpenter, Jr. of Katonah, Debra Carpenter; son-in-law, Terry Carbaugh of Katonah and Nancy Carpenter of Thornwood; four grandchildren; and sister, Mildred Eichhorn of Waynesville, N.C. He was predeceased by his wife, Polly (Palmesi) Carpenter; sister, Grace Carpenter; and brother, Bruce Carpenter.
Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, Inc., Pleasantville with private interment at Kensico Cemetery.
