Victor Faggella, 87, Former Pleasantville Teacher

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Victor J. Faggella of Mahopac, formerly of Yorktown Heights, died on April 11. He was 87.

Faggella worked as a teacher for the Pleasantville Union Free School District. After retiring in 1985, he founded Centurion Home Inspection in Yorktown Heights. 

Faggella was born in 1930 in the Bronx to Vincent and Marie Faggella. He graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in 1948, then went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology and his Masters in Education, both from New York University. In 1956, he married Teresa Hayes at Sacred Heart in the Bronx. 

Locally he was a Past-President of the American Society of Home Inspectors, Metro Chapter. Faggella will be remembered for his patience, kindness, mentoring and his love of the Yankees.

Faggella is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Maddock and her husband Keith of Poughkeepsie, his son Victor G. Faggella and his wife Patrice of Woodbury, CT, his daughter Maureen Paradise and her husband Joseph, Jr. of Poughquag, his daughter Denise Dazi and her husband Dale of Mahopac and his ten grandchildren: Keith, Britney, Courtney, Victor, Kevin, Joey, Corey, Nicole, Andrew and Ryan as well as his great-grandson Ciaran. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Caudill of Raleigh, NC. He was predeceased by his wife, Teresa.

Calling hours are Tuesday, 2 – 4 and 6 – 9p.m., at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights. The Mass of Christian Burial is Wednesday, 10 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak. 

Interment will follow at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Victor J. Faggella to the Bronx High School of Science Alumni Foundation, bxscience.edu.
