Armed Robbery at Pleasantville Gas Station

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pleasantville police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Tuesday morning at Century Gas Station, 2 Pleasantville Road.

Two men entered the gas station at around 6:30 a.m. and brandished a knife, according to police reports.

An employee had just arrived to open the station and was counting the money from the weekend when the men entered and told him to give them the money, threatening him with a knife, the employee reportedly told police. The men fled with $1,380, the employee said, which was the weekend's total receipts, police said.

The employee described the men as black with no distinguishing features other than one was tall and one was short, and they were both wearing long-sleeved shirts, police said. The employee told police they did not cover their faces.

Police said the robbery still is being investigated, and could not provide any more information at this time.
