Officers responded to Route 22 near Old Orchard Street about 11:20 a.m. on Feb. 26 after a school district staff member called to report that a student had gotten out of a transport van and was walking in and out of traffic, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found the teenager requesting that he be taken to a hospital, according to police, who said he appeared to be suffering from depression.

The boy was taken to Westchester Medical Center without injury, according to police.

Two days later, police received a report that squatters had been living at 23 Curtis Ave., according to authorities.

Though the home had no active utilities, people had been staying there for an extended period, according to police, who said that two sport-utility vehicles were seen multiple times at the home.

According to police, a high number of cats also had been seen coming from the home, creating what one neighbor called a "huge stench."

The case was turned over to the building department.

Elsewhere, police are seeking to learn who dumped a substantial amount of garbage on the side of 2 Half Mile Road. According to authorities, the Department of Transportation was forced to clean up the spot on Feb. 24.

On Feb. 25, county police responded to the Rye Lake Bridge after receiving a report that two boys were flying a drone in an apparent attempt to take photographs of the area, according to authorities.

Officers arrived to the scene and searched the area, but found no one, according to police.
