Grandmother Charged With Felony Drug Possession In Greenburgh

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A 51-year-old grandmother was arrested on felony drug charges on Wednesday, police said.

Alesia Blackwell, 51, was arrested on felony drug possession and paraphernalia charges in White Plains by Greenburgh police. She also was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

A search warrant was executed at about noon Wednesday at 3 Oak St., Apt. 1E, in the White Plains section of the Town of Greenburgh.

In the apartment, police said, members of the Greenburgh Street Crime Unit and Greenburgh Swat Team found 42 grams of marijuana, 5 grams of MDMA, a small safe, digital scales and drug paraphernalia. MDMA is a drug more commonly known as ecstasy or Molly.

Alesia Blackwell and her 5-year-old granddaughter were in the apartment at the time of the raid, police said.

Blackwell was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; one count of criminal possession of marijuana and one count of endangering the welfare of a child 

Blackwell was booked, processed and sent to Westchester County Jail pending her arraignment.
