VALHALLA, N.Y. Mount Pleasant Police arrested a Hawthorne man Wednesday on misdemeanor assault stemming from a Fourth of July domestic dispute. The man, 63, was charged with assault in the third degree with intent to cause physical injury to another person, according to police. Mount Pleasant Police responded to the call around 11 p.m. Police say the incident involved the mans wife and that alcohol played a factor. Due to the nature of the crime, police declined to release the mans name or address.
Mount Pleasant Police say the arrest was the only one made on the fourth and that all other police activity was related to fireworks complaints.

The Westchester County Department of Public Safety notified the Mount Pleasant Police Department last week of a new registered sex offender now residing in town.
The following information was provided by the county to the Mount Pleasant Police on the individual.
Adam Ward, 39, was convicted in 2003 of third degree sodomy, a class E felony. Wards victim was a 15-year-old male whos relationship to Ward is unknown. He was sentenced in state Supreme Court in Westchester to 10 years probation and 90 days in jail. He currently resides at 25 Operations Drive in Valhalla, the location of the Grasslands Homeless Shelter. Ward is not considered to be a violent offender.
There are currently 26 registered sex offenders living in Mount Pleasant who are under the supervision of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety. For more information, residents are advised to contact the department of public safety at (914) 864-7700
