VALHALLA, N.Y. – Mount Pleasant Police arrested a Hawthorne Cedar Knolls student on Oct. 14 on felony charges after police said the student badly damaged and vandalized school property on the school’s Hawthorne campus. The student, 17, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony. Police said the female student smashed a fire alarm system and an exit sign in one of the school’s buildings. The student is currently being held at the Westchester County Jail on $15,000 bail.
- On Oct. 14 at around 6:20 p.m., Mount Pleasant Police responded to a domestic disturbance that resulted in the arrest of a Pleasantville man. Axel Kastner, 18, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation. Police said Kastner was in possession of prescription drugs for which he did not have a prescription.
- On Oct. 14 at around 3:30 p.m., Mount Pleasant Police said that a resident living on Madison Avenue in Valhalla reported that various antique items on her porch were stolen at some point during the overnight hours. Police said the decorative items were valued at over $600. No arrests were made.
- On Oct. 10 at around 10:20 p.m. New York State Police in Hawthorne arrested Michael Bandzierz, 60, of Massachusetts, on charges of driving while intoxicated. Police said they pulled over Bandzierz car while he was driving on the Taconic State Parkway after Bandzierz made an unsafe lane change. According to police, Bandzierz’s blood alcohol content at the time of the incident was 0.12 percent.
